Who we are
Kitchens Designed and Built for London Homes
A new kitchen is one of the few renovations that changes how a house is actually used every day. Getting it right means more than picking cabinet doors — it means understanding the plumbing run, where the extraction needs to go, and whether the layout you want is structurally possible before a single unit is ordered.
Dakus Construction handles the whole job in-house — strip-out, plumbing, electrics, plastering, tiling, cabinetry and worktop fitting — so you deal with one team from the first measure-up to the final snag list. No handing you between a kitchen showroom, a plumber and a separate fitter.
We work across all of Greater London, with a particular focus on East London — Newham, Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Barking & Dagenham, Hackney and Tower Hamlets — as well as North, South and West London and the Essex and Kent borders. Wherever you are, call us and ask.

Local knowledge
We Fit Kitchens in Every Type of London Home
London’s housing stock spans everything from Victorian terraces and mansion flats to riverside new-build apartments, and each one dictates a different approach to plumbing runs, extraction and layout.
01
Victorian & Edwardian Terraces
From Walthamstow and Hackney to Clapham and Ealing. Narrow galley kitchens with a rear extension almost always waiting to happen — solid walls and old wiring are the usual surprises.
02
1930s – 1950s Semis
Suburban London from Ilford and Chingford to Finchley and Bromley. Generous plots and side access make these some of the easiest homes in the area to extend into.
03
Ex-Council & Estate Housing
Across every borough, from Tower Hamlets to Southwark. Solid, consistent layouts, but often still carrying original 1960s-70s kitchens badly in need of rewiring and replumbing.
04
Riverside & New-Build Apartments
Royal Docks, Stratford, Greenwich Peninsula and Battersea. Structurally sound but often finished to a developer’s budget — upgrading units, worktops and appliances makes an immediate difference.
05
Detached & Larger Family Homes
Woodford, Chigwell, Richmond and the outer boroughs. Room for larger islands, bi-fold doors and open-plan kitchen-diner layouts.
06
Buy-to-Let & Pre-Sale Refurbs
Landlords and vendors working to a deadline. We scope the kitchen work that actually moves valuation and rental yield, and hit fixed dates.
Budgeting
What Does a Kitchen Installation Cost in London?
Nobody can quote a kitchen they have not seen, and any builder who gives you a firm number over the phone is guessing. What we can do is be straight about what drives the figure.
Four things move a kitchen budget more than anything else: the size and layout of the room, whether plumbing or extraction needs to move, the cabinetry and worktop specification you choose, and whether you’re extending or knocking through as part of the project.
How we quote
We visit, measure, and talk through what you actually want the kitchen to do. You then get a written, itemised, fixed-price quote — labour and materials broken out line by line, so you can see exactly what you are paying for and adjust the specification if the number needs to come down. The price we agree is the price you pay unless you ask us to change the scope.

Questions
Kitchen Installation FAQs
How much does a kitchen installation cost in London?
Costs vary depending on size, layout changes, cabinetry and worktop material. We provide a fixed, itemised quote after a free home visit so there are no surprises.
How long does a kitchen installation take?
A standard refit typically takes 10–15 working days. Stone worktops are templated once the units are in and usually take a further week to fabricate and fit. Projects involving extensions or structural changes take longer.
Do I need planning permission for a kitchen installation?
A like-for-like refit doesn’t need planning permission. Rear or side-return extensions often fall under permitted development, but structural work, gas and electrics all need building regulations sign-off. We advise on this during your consultation.
Can I use my kitchen during the installation?
Not for most of the project — the room is stripped back to bare walls and floor early on. We’ll help you plan a temporary setup elsewhere in the house and keep water and power disruption to a minimum where possible.
Are you insured and qualified?
Yes — our plumbers are Gas Safe registered and our electricians are fully certified, and all work is covered by insurance-backed guarantees.
